Anyone else remember going to Hartlepool and Carlisle? Yeah?
You want to tell me it was better back then?
Nah.
You want to tell me it was better back then?
Nah.
The Only highlight of 2006 was Calderwood, I might be wrong just trying to use memory than Google and AI ..As Eddie says are we getting a bit up our own arse?Anyone else remember going to Hartlepool and Carlisle? Yeah?

Nah.
I only get to see home games live, and this season the playing style forced on the team is boring. If we hadn’t fannied about with the ball after taking the lead against Leicester and let them back into it, fifth place and a Champs League place would have been ours. The top three might be dominated between a handful of clubs but there’s still a chance for the rest to grab a bit of the glory. It’s maybe not as dull as you think.
Well said.Didn't many fans ask for a boring mid-table season for a change? That's pretty much what it'd be like... It's what your Fulhams, Bournemouths and, most of the time, Palaces usually get. I'll take it.
Agree.I don’t agree.
The Arsenal home game under Steve Cooper to stay up was a Forest classic and gave many supporters a feeling of total elation.
Well said. No, I'm not finding it boring, what was boring was league 1 under Megson and every season in the championship under whoever bar the last season with SC
I really enjoyed the Liverpool & Villa games and thought we looked like an established PL team, I think its fair to say we haven't clicked at home yet in fact we've been a bit shit but having said that we probably should've put a few more points on the board that were denied by an over zealous VAR
Maybe a degree of PL entitlement is starting to creep into one or two people on here
“If we believe that playing in the best league in the world is boring how would we cope with any future adversity in the Championship or League 1?”Boring? No.
NFFC is the team I follow home and away through thick and thin.
We have an ambitious and committed owner and a highly skilled squad with some excellent players.
Every supporter will feel some disappointments but this is football.
I see every game as an opportunity to win and progress up the table.
In our first season back in the PL we suffered a few thumpings but always backed the team.
In our twenty three years in the wilderness we suffered some miserable results and performances at many places.
If we believe that playing in the best league in the world is boring how would we cope with any future adversity in the Championship or League 1?
In my view the most boring issue is the nonsense of a two week international break so early in the season.
Can’t wait for Sunday week and the trip to Palace.
COYR
And losing at Chester and Accrington in cup ties. Ticking off 2 new grounds was little consolation.I tell you what’s boring, being relegated to league one and getting knocked out of the LDV vans trophy at Woking
Yep. Who cares if England won 7 - 0 in Croatia. What's the ultimate point in it all? The whole thing is a total three week yawn fest. International football's bent these days anyway. World Cups to the highest bidder, regardless of football heritage. Qatar?, USA?, Canada? ferchrissakes. All steeped in a rich football history. Donald Trump sticking his oar in. Wouldn't surprise me if he became the next FIFA president. The only thing I'm finding boring is the international break tbh.
I don't see any of our players getting picked off Ste, we're not that club anymoreI have to admiit, I'm slightly less engaged this season than previous.
There's a bit more expectation, and the side haven't yet properly clicked so the excitement isn't there.
Last few years it's felt we were underdogs, other people didn't know how good our players could be, Ryan f***ing Yates clattering some of the best players in the world, MGW moments of magic, how the hell did we get Anderson to play for us, Murillo excitement every time he got the ball.
This season, all our players are pretty well known now, there's no Europe as a something different and it's only the FA Cup that might bring some proper excitement. League cup loss was disappointing. Yates is sidelined, no other youth team players close to coming through, the potential that our best players will be picked off in January/May... £45m on a striker.
But saying that, I'm very happy with a boring mid-table finish and a proper consolidation before a step forward next year. So long as we don't lose MGW of course...
yeh but you can't sit down and watch "maximum value" can you.I don't see any of our players getting picked off Ste, we're not that club anymore
We'll always have to sell players because we're not Man City but I'm confident that any sales will be on our terms and we'll get maximum value
I think that’s a point - poor CG atmosphere makes watching on tv feel less exciting. One feels more wrong things when the crowd is making themselves count.Let’s get the ground started and get some more European adventures. All aboard the Marinakis express!
Of course you can't sit down & watch "maximum value" but you can watch the new players it brings, obviously dependent on the recruitment team getting it rightyeh but you can't sit down and watch "maximum value" can you.
If players are coming and going after a couple of seasons you never build a connection.
Look at Anderson - at the end of his career we're going to just be a footnote. Elanga too.
Whereas Williams, Murillo, Aina, MGW - they've stayed and become cult figures.
That development each season - that's interesting!
