Anthony Elanga

Nottingham's dirty secret
I disagree - it has benefited us enormously.
We bought two better wingers for the money we got for him (although I guess the jury is still out on Bwaka) - both more suited to our revised style of play - better in ball retention and creating chances when we have more of the ball.
It was a brilliant bit of work by the 'transfers team'
2 better wingers?!?!

Steady on chap.

Hutchinson I can get on board with. The other 2 still have a lot to prove.

Exactly, being technically better on paper and in YouTube clips is significantly different to actually being better in the Premier League.

Haven't heard much from Emmo on the Elanga situation for a while now...
He has been kidnapped for ransom by Hamas, apparently.

Emo that is, not Anthony Elanga.

That’s also true, needed to upgrade the bench in Jan and we didn’t. Dropped the ball on that.
People keep saying this but as we are seeing now it’s not as easy as buying players, dropping them in and seeing an instant impact. Especially when you have 9 or 10 players that are pretty much undroppable as was the case last season. No guarantee whatsoever Nuno would have even played any new signings any more than the players he did have sat on the bench.

Yeah of course it’s defo not as easy I was making it sound like but it was obvious from the beginning that Ramon Sosa wasn’t gonna work out + we were lacking a striker in general.

He wasn’t kidnapped. He has a post as their defence advisor

Tony was a massive player for us in the second half of last season, both creatively and as a goalscorer. Pace to burn, really good from set-pieces and had a great synergy with his team mates.

Ultimately, he went elsewhere and played Champions League football but I can't see it working out for him there. He struggled in the first half of last season to the point where people doubted him and we played in a style that got the best from him.

Give him room to run, it's done. But, press him? He's a passenger. That £55m is looking like great business.

it's the same for all speedster players who uses pace - elanga, traore , forbs , johnson . You would have thought howe chasing elanga for so long would know how best to utilise him.
