Andy Reid Coaching

Cant believe all the folk bigging up what an influence he could be.... Roy Keane described him as the most unfit footballer he'd ever met.. he spent most of his career looking like an amateur heavyweight wrestler rather than a pro footballer.... Good footballer but hardly somebody id advise a young football player to emulate.

Many people used to say exactly the same things about John Robertson.

Hope at least we can involve him in the Academy maybe?

PM says Reid won't be becoming part of his coaching staff.
He is happy with his current technical team. It doesn't feel like we have many first team coaches- PM brought 2 (assistant and fitness) plus Sutton for the goalies. Is that the lot?

Supremely talented player who never made the most of his ability due to fitness/(alleged)lifestyle issues.

Pity, loved watching him as a player, although whether that was because he always reminded me a little of a certain left winger who used to play for us I'm not sure.

Due to his injuries we've missed his creativity and obvious passion for the club and this retirement was inevitable really.

Wish him happiness in whatever he does next in his life.

It's all about mid-table...
At the end of the day Reidy was a boozer with a terrific talent for football.

I knew some fantastic amateur players who were a gnats bollock off being very good professional football players.

The pull of wine women and song was just too much.

Maybe Reidy can still have a place at the club singing the goal music live...

My uncle was one of them. The next George Best, signed for Forest, refused to empty the bins at the CG one day, got into birds and booze.
Regretted it all his life.

Reidy was a great player, he could have been outstanding, but his DNA didn't allow that. At least he achieved what he did.

Looks like young Benjamin Osborn has taken the number 11 shirt for this season?

Andy has been doing a great job with the development squad since stepping-up to replace Chris Cohen. The way the U-23s have adapted since the academy achieved Cat 1 status is a testament to his coaching ability.

I hope the progress of that group isn't compromised in any way by this decision.

A fantastic Promotion for a cracking player who came up through the ranks at Forest.

Maybe he can teach the first-team lads how to take decent set-piece!

I'm sure between Coops, Jamie Robinson and Gaz Brazil they'll find a good replacement.
