Did we make any money from this one?

I think this one was a "hope it sticks" rather than a deliberate attempt to make some money like Kapino (and probably Drager).

We were reported to have paid £200k for Silva. We'll probably won't have got anymore than that as a maximum from Aris.

If there's anyone who made money out of this transfer, it's obviously you. He signed on a free, and he'll go for a nominal fee (Aris will not pay a dime, if you catch my drift).

If any club official or owner is to pocket money in a transfer, this can only be done in purchases, not in such deals, which, if anything, point to ffp-hidden incoming money.

Don't agents get cuts of signing on fees any more then?

Also didn't he sign for 200k? (think DT reported that?)

We were also widely reported to be in for Josh Maja, and when that didn't come off we seemed to pivot to Silva.

Genuinely think this one was a hope it works out, cheap gamble, and easy exit if it doesn't.

This one screamed panic buy, and he's gone before the window opened, amazing

It was a figure quoted by multiple sources. Although how true that is in a day and age when transfer fees seem to be guarded more closely than the Government's Covid plans, who knows.

I think anyone who kids themselves that this was a sensible signing, which now stands to make us a profit which made the investment worthwhile, is having a laugh.

Another shit Vrentroz panic-buy, and a waste of time & money. Again.

Player probably did quite nicely out of it - two 'signing on' fees in the space of a year. His agents played a blinder.

Lumped on once for 10 minutes, hooked out a shot for a throw in, never seen again. The Forest way.

If only we'd taken that approach with Diakhaby :D

The silver lining in all of this is the appalling signings of the last few years mean the new recruitment team aren't going to have to do much to look really good.

Also club has to be praised for at least putting a very good footballing core into the club. It feels like they have stubbornly stumbled to it but at least they have done it!

We've seen some shit over the years, but that guy is the worst. That Gif where he boots it for a goal kick at the trent end sums him up perfectly well.

Absolutely brain dead.

Every footballer in the world would love to have his pace, but absolutely nobody would wish for his first touch

In Danny Taylor's Athltic article this morning he says he was sitting in the Directors box and someone said about him: "He’s a speedboat, not a footballer."

Was he even that fast though? I don't recall ever watching him amd thinking "he's rapid" even off the ball.

Which game did he come on? I must of erased it from my memory as I thought he hadn’t played yet.

He is (or at least was, last season over here) much better than what you saw today. He's understandably very rusty (it was clear in his returns to defence, which were a bit late and lazy for my taste). If he stays there, don't expect perfect finishes and top quality decision-making, but he can be a trouble maker for the defence of the opponent.

Incidentally, although the Greek press presented his transfer to Aris as done deal, with only minor details remaining to be agreed upon, he's completely disappeared from Greek headlines in the last few days, and Aris are supposedly looking only for a striker and a no. 10, so I'm not sure the deal is on anymore. And with Mighten out for two months, it may not be a good idea to let him go, unless Murphy has a couple of quality wingers lined up.

Is it wrong that he reminded me of Franz Carr?
He had the same element of unpredictability, to the point that he didn’t look like he knew what he was going to do himself.

Antonio felt a bit like that too, and we all know where that ended up.
