Drager was an unused sub against West Brom.

Cheers Congz :)

Not much of a return to say they've been here over 3 months. Despite the official line, the anecdotal angle would still suggest these were very much Vrentzos signings.

Let's hope he doesn't have any say at all in Jan. All they've been so far is yet ANOTHER set of pointless wages.

I think it was wise to have an insurance policy at Right Back, whoever's decision it was. If Desmond suffers another injury and Middlesborough recall DJ Ed - we could be left scrambling for a panic signing, or relying on either Back or Richardson to be ready to play every week (or ask someone else to play out of position) - all potentially riskier options.

Id have sooner we just kept Gabriel personally. Probably on less wages than Drager, younger, and already settling into this league better too.

Can't help think it's just another example of Vrentroz' intent desire to destroy us from within  Selling our good youth off to replace it with crap seems to be his sole purpose in life

Whilst true, it felt like Gabriel really wanted a move and was pushing for it, so not worth forcing him to stay.

He did a recent interview saying he'd no regrets, but it was a tough decision......

Lawrence-Gabriel admitted that is was a tough decision to leave Nottingham Forest during the summer transfer window.

Sorry Congz, this reaks of the Pea-faced V-monster doing his usual "potential out for agent favour in". Pure speculation of course.

I just hope he doesn't have anything to do with any more windows either way.

No need to apologise Alf, as we can speculate about what players may or may not have been thinking - but on the V-monster not being involved, we are definitely in agreement!

I'm not disagreeing with your point concerning Gabriel/Drager because I haven't seen the latter play Alf, and I certainly don't know what his wages are, but - irrespective of his involvement in recruitment - what convinces you that Vrentzos was actually intent on "destroying" Forest from within?

I'm not knocking your passionate hatred of IV, that's your prerogative Alf, but I'm finding it a bit of a stretch to agree with your belief that he was deliberately attempting to "destroy" one of his employer's businesses.

I very much doubt that Marinakis would retain him elsewhere in his business empire were that the case.

We got a reasonably high six figure sum for Gabriel, who wanted the move, and who wasn't first choice here.

Drager was brought in for backup, his wages will probably be a bit higher than Gabriel's but not that much, and as we brought him in on a free and sold Gabriel for a high six figure sum there's plenty of capacity before it becomes a net cost.

I also think we'll sell Drager in the summer for a nominal fee, so overall the transfer will be a profitable one. A bit like what happened with Kapino.

Gabriel fee will be booked as all profit immediately too, while Drager fee will be amortised over 3(?) years. Then, like you said, probably a small fee next summer.

It’s just FFP fiddling (probably not right word on this context) around the edges of the squad that will probably work out cheaper than keeping Gabriel.

I'd hazard a guess we paid £0 for Drager so there's nothing to amortise, just his wages.

The Greek press presents his move to Aris as almost a done deal, with the player having agrred terms with the club and only the deal with Forest remaining to be finalized. No details on the latter (loan, buy or something in-between).

Shortest Forest career ever? (Signed on deadline day, already out the club before next window open)?

Sat least for a permanent player anyway.

re Drager, if he goes or not it's decent business, cost nothing, wages would be low, also we'd get money from UEFA (or whomever) for his involvement in ACN. win win.

Vrentroz and his agents did.

If there's anyone who made money out of this transfer, it's obviously you. He signed on a free, and he'll go for a nominal fee (Aris will not pay a dime, if you catch my drift).

If any club official or owner is to pocket money in a transfer, this can only be done in purchases, not in such deals, which, if anything, point to ffp-hidden incoming money.
