I think he had a 6-8 week period (around January/February) where he was unplayable. His form dipped a little after that, nothing glaring but I think teams were starting to come up with game plans to nullify him. Like you said, once Grabban got injured so Johnson went more central there was a bit of disruption to that partnership. He was still very good. Got caught out positionally on occasion, but his pace usually got him out of trouble. My worry is that if he has a slow start at Spurs, he may end up fading into the background. Hope not. Think he's got the potential to be a top international player, but he may have to do what Matty Cash did and find some lineage elsewhere as England's Right-Back slot is so competitive. If Maitland-Niles is his replacement though then I think that's a very sound replacement.Fwiw I've had question marks over Djed for much of last season - he had a month or so when I thought he'd turned a corner in terms of impact where it counts, though he seemed to struggle after that, albeit when Johnson moved a little more central.
He's young though and it's about where he can go with the right coaching. If he thinks spurs is the best place to bring him on good luck to him...
I'd be more than happy to see him continue his journey with us though I'd hope for more in the way of assists. He's incredible at driving forward (and jinking into dangerous positions) but his decision making, while improving, still needs work imo.
Suspect he would have been allowed to move on regardless, though this does help.So Arsenal have signed midfielder midfielder Fabio Vieira - wonder if this allows AMN (as no-one calls him) to move?
One I am hoping we pick up too. An Arsenal supporting friend of mine reckons he'd be a very good signing for us.I hope we get an update on this next week, he’s a good player IMO and can play in a few positions which I think could be vital this season when injuries rack up.
Not sure I buy this narrative that Spence may struggle under Conte. He manage to turn maverick winger come striker in to one of the best right wing backs in Europe. He seems to do a good job developing wing backs.
Moses? Noah chance.Speaking of which, I wonder if we’ll be back in for Victor Moses this summer?
