Steve Cooper will always be the MAN!

And thats the issue. Two things-money spent equals increased pressure, its inevitable and understandable and I'm not sure it "matters" who is bringing the players in, fact is the big man has gone through serious brass. But perhaps even more importantly Coops has looked a bit at sea in the Prem...

Steve Cooper will always be the MAN!

I think theres likely to be some truth in that MASE but I also think hes saying that he will find another decent job easily if he leaves. And I think hes right. It actually quite a clever position...

Remo Marco Freuler + Trains thread

Of course you are right Yeezy. Sadly I think Coops is his own worst enemy in that hes sticking doggedly to his guns, tactics and players in the face of bad results and even worse performances. When the midfield is as poor as ours has been you can't just hope for a change in fortune and when...

    Richmond Mamah Laryea

There will have been stuff in his stats that triggered the transfer, but you never know for sure until the player is in the dressing room/playing field what you have got. I don't see it as a failure, just a reflection of the Danes moneyball approach-when you are shopping in the bargain basement...

Steve Cooper will always be the MAN!

I agree. It would be some half assed has been. Let’s hope we get a result against the dippers we could do with a release if pressure

    Harry Arter

Come on, is there honestly any “spirit” of the game in professional football?. I mean the players try to cheat and con at every single juncture-every throw in is contested despite the fact half the time a player knows it’s come off his foot. It’s just about what you can get away with not what’s...

    Brennan Price Johnson

Its so hard with a player like Brennan-none of need to be told what he can do... Trouble is, as I said before its not really about him its about getting some solidity and bit into this team such that we are in games for 75-80 minutes without being blown away and for me that means changing...

    Brennan Price Johnson

I think he plays well either as a winger or wide right in a proper attacking front 3. Trouble is I've seen enough so far this season to say we can't afford a front 3 given our midfield problems. Personally I'd go 5-3-2 with O'Brien, Mangala and whomever of MGW or Jesse in the third CM spot...

Forest v Grimsby Footage request- August 1999

No video, but I remember the game and more importantly walking over Trent bridge with a bunch of Grimsby fans waving a giant blow up cod. I also remember it being a very nasty affair, there was trouble at that game and alot of Coppers around chasing Grimsby fans in particular...

    Alexander Cole Mighten

Surprisingly detailed critique from a manager. Everything he says is right, but of course from our perspective its time on the pitch that we want not bloody patterns in training sessions. Lets hope the touch paper is lit soon-I want to see lots of YouTube vids of him ripping defenders to shreds.

    Moussa Niakhaté

The real issue here is the "clubs documenting the player is injured". Clearly if they can't do that hes not, er injured and theres no discussion. I'm talking about players in whom the medical team at the club documents an injury. If that is the case then there won't be a problem IMO

We've got rid of Jason Cummings!!!

Christ the Aussies must be desperate to take that bellend.

Noticed he was on the bench for the Wendies yesterday and wasn't used as a sub.... Not sure what that is about, but its L1 FFS surely he can kick the door down at that level??

    Moussa Niakhaté

I agree, nearly all clubs work with national FA's these days. Since most prem clubs will have players from 10+ countries its not worth getting a reputation for being difficult. That being said there are player who are carrying knocks which the club medical teams know are a significant risk for...

But Greek thats not the real story. For them to make a judgement that have to see the player, so although technically they are the "final arbiters" in 99.999% of cases it never comes to that.

    Moussa Niakhaté

Yes, but in practical terms its unheard of for a National side to challenge a decision on a genuinely injured player. On top of which I suspect alot will come down to the player himself-if the national set up rings him and he says hes injured they aren'y going to push that I wouldn't think. If...

    Moussa Niakhaté

Yes if hes injured. There would be no point in a player travelling half way around the world if he couldn't play. Even Fifa isn't that stupid.
