Does anyone remember League 1 Derby County? (STILL the worst team in history!)

The boss man doesn't think it's the best idea to lumber yourself with a 42% APR loan either

In fairness its a really good, wise and concise message, it also puts the supporters group a bit in their place as well.

He seems a genuine bloke and you can’t doubt his ticker shelling out what he has for a handful of nothing,

what he hasn’t factored in is the 28000 each week 🙄, people are twitchy about not getting in, we all remember the sold out signs going up at some point eh?

I have been genuinely shocked by the amount of good FFP & financial analysis on this board over the years, and it's corresponding reasonable accuracy + hit rate, and the utterly pathetic ignorance from Derby's fans at their own plight over the past few years has failed to even rival that slightly.

I've said this a few times now, but the majority of us fans were shouting "Fazza, sort FFP out!" and "Vrentzos! Stop spunking fortunes on random punts with no plan!" when there was even a sniff of us overstepping the mark. Even the Lingard signing has seen people raise concerns until the 1-year + 80k deal was announced. But Derby fans seem to totally ignore that, much like they ignored their own situation.

They are genuinely dumb as f***, and in no way put any real thought or effort into analyzing anything before coming to a conclusion. And from the past few years, neither have the crooks who ran them

Its absolutely Bizarre to be fair. Its as if they have a sub group that gets together and thrashes out the things they are going to say, as some sort of joke. To have that many half baked idiots on one forum is a monumental achievement. During the admin stuff there were 2 or 3 posters who seemed to grasp that it wasn't the EFL fault, and they continually got shot down when they actually told the truth. The mods appear worse than the posters too, which explains a lot.

Yeah, he does seem a decent bloke in that, and the fact that he's put his bollocks on the line to save something he cares about. Perhaps they could do some kind of deal where you'd get the price of standard match tickets you bought prior to getting a season ticket off your total but maybe thats being too nice.

Anyways, in the spirit of my teams hockey forum "Edmonton is no good" thread, where you aren't allowed to say anything positive about Edmonton, I take it all back and derby is/are shite from top to bottom.

I've got respect for Clowes, who seems like a thoroughly decent chap in all fairness.

Unfortunately for him, I get the feeling that most Derby fans prefer egotistical bullshitters like Mel, and if they don't have a good season they'll soon turn on him.
Won't be too long before the bed sheets come out.

If the sheepshaggers struggle in the 3rd division the incoming trophies to the CG will wind them up even more
Be nice to see Eddie, and on a personal level as someone who has constantly defended the premier league you’ll be able to bask in the reflective glow 😉

I've been active supporter of the PL on here for years, I absolutely love it
I was just saying the same earlier, I think the forum should be doing a little something in recognition personally …… all the naysayers where are they now Ed?

We are a FOUNDING member of the Premier league as well, only 11 others are in the top flight can say the same this year.

Looking in my DCFC rule book for founding clubs we can now avoid paying tax, doing our accounts and all of these signings won't need paying for either, cheers Crewton futures looking

This presumably allows us to play the victim card as and when needed ?

I already feel sorry for the bloke when he is skint because of them
Its unfortunately a likelihood for him too, honestly looks to me like he could do an Alan Hardy (Not flashing his widget mind) in terms of taking his eye of the family business that has created his wealth as the Derby fans will get increasingly impatient for success and demand more of his time and energy (and cash).

We saw how that ended for Paragon and obviously Notts. When the loans that were put in from the company needed addressing the house of cards fell and it looks like Derby have followed the same model.

Would still rather Kirchner had succeeded though as it would have been much more spectacular.

I think he’s a really decent bloke and Derby fans don’t deserve him. I used to work at East Midlands Airport and he was a pilot for bmi baby. The ground crew I still keep in contact say he is a really down to earth guy.

Shame Kirchner didn’t buy them, that would have sent popcorn sales in Nottingham rocketing.
