GAFF LAD. "Open your knees and feel the breeze"

Fascinating watch. All the sweeter when you know what happened. Don't think Leeds have ever been given the thanks they deserve for our success.
Aye...owd Cloughie ran rings 'round Revie on that show.

I didn't know this until I met a Boro supporting mate the other week but BC and Revie are not only both from Middlesbrough but they lived round the corner from each other and went to the same school but obviously in different years. My mate also said that whereas Cloughie always spoke proudly of his Middlesbrough connection Revie rarely did and very rarely went back to the place

I've been wondering, with all the talk about various first team regulars from last season now being 'not good enough' for the Premier League and a seemingly endless stream of 'upgrades' being linked...where this now leaves our top youth team players. We have, quite rightly, lauded the academy for providing us with a healthy stream of core players to build around in recent years - but with those on the fringes not able to make an impact last year, outside of loan spells - surely the route from Academy to first team is even tougher now?

As it is I expect for all teams in the top league. Players have to start somewhere though. With recent Academy Cat 1 status, improvements at the training ground, FA Youth Cup final and Gary Brazil, I still foresee a few gems coming through the ranks going forwards.

I agree - I was more thinking about those youngster who were 'around' the first team last year who didn't quite crack the regular team - we've already seen Richardson released - and I don't think many fans would be too happy now if they saw an opening day team sheet with Fornah or Mighten's name on it.

We do get to name 9 subs rather than 7 now so probably depends on how many we bring in. I still think there is a cracking player in Fornah. Mighten needs game time so a season long loan hopefully. Last season felt like a bit of a waste for him.

Many years ago, I had an idea for a Lord of the Rings/Forest mashup...

Frodo (John McGovern) slipped the One Ring off his finger just in time to beat the offside trap. Appearing from nowhere, he split the Mordor defence with a pass which Legolas (Woodcock) dispatched with venom and nonchalance in equal measure.

The dwarf Archie Gimli joined in the congratulatory hug.

While Gandalf exchanged words of wisdom with assistant Peter Taylor, SourDon (Revie) fumed in the away dugout. Lothlorien, the Magic Forest, were poised to beat Mordor United yet again...

That's as far as it got!

After not having a cat in hells chance of getting tickets to the play off final I’ve just had a great conversation with a Newcastle season ticket holder who I don’t know but lives round the corner and worked out I support Forest.

Guess who’s going to the first game?!

Interesting Twitter thread started by Forza Garibaldi:

As we have offered before, Forza - and anyone else - is welcome to view and take on board comments on this very forum, which does seem to attract a broad range of Forest fans (and the occasional lunatic).

I'm all for debate and the wide-ranging discussions we have on here touch matters not always connected to football, but always, I'm sure, of great interest to the wider public.

I love it, gives me an informed opinion on matters I would never explore if left to my own devices.

I hope others who are not regular readers dip in from time to time because I'm sure that ideas expressed on here by those who contribute their expertise can refresh any argument or debate. Mostly football matters relating to NFFC, of course.

He's already transferred some of his Forest shares that would enable him to do so.

If Forest somehow qualify for the Champions League, does Marinakis have to sell one the clubs?

Am I right in thinking an owner can't own two clubs in the same competition?

Weren't the two Red Bull owned clubs in the Champions League last season?

Yes, but bear in mind, German clubs - thanks to the 50+1 rule - are owned by their members.

My local side has 75.000 members, each of us „own“ the club between us, as we are effectively shareholders in the „e.V.“ - the company that controls the club.

However in the case of Lawn Ball Sport Leipzig - and this is another reason why everyone hates them - they have merely 17 members, all of whom are employees of Red Bull. And nobody else can join (unlike every other club in Germany).

So with this model the club wants to spend 10 million do the 75000 have to cough up 5 ?

Or are the 75000 of you committing the perfect crime where you have equal say but none of the financial burden ?

I think Derby used a similar model where they spend 36 million and 62 million of us carried that cost, unless that poor sod coughed and sorted HMRC out.

not bitter at all 🙄
