We get 3k or 10% away allocation, whichever is the lower. So let's get one thing right, it will be pretty much capped at 3k apart from Brentford game which basically means although we're now in the PL, there's no real difference to away allocation of championship grounds. So we've got 2.5k members, I hope not many more are offered out!

Will be making the trip back to the UK from Australia for the first time in about 8 years next Easter and want to take my 16 year old to the ManU and Liverpool games. No more than he deserves after getting up with me in the middle of the night to watch a team he has no geographical affinity with and none of his friends have any interest in for about the last 8 years!!!!

What’s the best way to get tickets - will I need home and away membership, even if it’s for 1 game to have any hope of getting tickets!?

In all honesty I don't think you could have picked a harder two games to get tickets for as you will have normal Forest fans, glory supporting Forest fans and then the weirdest of the lot... Liverpool and Man United "supporters" who live in and around Nottingham wanting to go.

I think you will struggle

For Man Utd at home there may be a slim chance of getting tickets, but it would be very slim. You'd have a better chance if you're prepared to pay for a hospitality package but even they will be in short supply.
For Liverpool away you'd have literally no chance of a ticket in the away section, no idea how hard it is to get home tickets at Liverpool but I would imagine it's not easy.

Unless you pay through the roof for hospitality you haven’t got a chance of getting tickets for those games.

I don’t know how anybody expects to get the ‘big team’ home tickets if you haven't got a season ticket.

(If you haven't already) Join the local supporters club -or set one up - there seems to be one in Sydney - particpate in their activities and tell the club what you're doing.

The club has previously been accomodating for far flung supporters with a history of club affiliation and prioritised tickets for them.

Mind expect there will be a fair few other overseas Reds doing similar and the club ought to prioritse those folks running the supporters clubs during the dark days

Do we expect any tickets to make general sale this season home or away?
I would imagine a handful, it depends how many season ticket holders we have.

I would assume we have around 20/22K season ticket holders, add in the 3K away fans and your looking at 3-5K seats available for home members and then general sale.

As a comparison, I read that only 1 Leicester City home league game went to general sale last season. There's virtually zero chance that away games will go to general sale. I'd guess that initially zero chance for home games too but depends how Forest start the season. If they do well, non members won't get a look in. If they're getting spanked every game then less attractive fixtures might make it to general sale.

That’s a lovely response. Slim chance but hope.

I’ll remind them my first ever Forest game was a 1-0 win against Liverpool, Davenport with the goal, in 83 I think, and from that day on, the die was cast! Those were the days when me and my dad just used to turn up. No problem getting a seat in the ‘executive upper’

And I have a long history of buying games and commentary on ForestTV (and it worked most of the time!)

If you really want to get in to Liverpool away, I imagine there will be Scouse fans selling their season tickets on stubhub or ticket master or wherever.

Loads of ST holders at big clubs pay for their ST by selling the “lower profile” games or ones on TV, and only attend the “big games”.

You’ll get ripped off though, as I think the market is aimed at Japanese tourists etc.

Also, standard response about buying tickets off Scousers applies…..

Is it just me that thinks the whole idea of the away membership is unfair? Why should someone with away membership who's been to say 5 away games get priority over someone who doesn't have away membership but has been to 10 games? I'm all for the idea of giving priority depending on how many away games someone has previously been to but with the away membership scheme you're effectively given the opportunity to pay to jump the queue. Or am I missing something?
I think an away membership especially the way its been operating this past few years is fair. We all want to go to Derby away (we did) but surely those who'd gone to places like Millwall away, Blackburn away.......etc should get priority. I went to most away games last season including all of those when we were absolutely shit as did many others & yes I do believe we should get priority over those who go very infrequently and then only to the so called sexy games.

So do I, and I say that as someone who went to zero away games last year (young child nuked that) and as someone who desperately wants to go to Everton and Spurs away this year at a minimum.

Just get rid of away membership, and do it on a tranche based system (like for play-offs and Wembley) based on number of away games people went to last year. Would cost the club £125,000 (which they're getting from away memberships at the moment), which is less than 0.1% of the revenue we'll make this year for being in the PL, and that <0.1% buys an awful lot of goodwill from fans who've backed this club to the hilt when we were short on money.

I'm a technophobe and don't really get present day technology.

But because I'm tracked in all manner of ways these days suggests to me that it should be possible to digitise the ticketing system and introduce quite a simple method of identifying fans attendance at games, both home and away. This would allow whatever method is deemed appropriate to be easily shown on each fans page on the ticketing site, telling them instantly what is their status.

EM could do this for the cost of five minutes of one tanker voyage between Hong Kong and Singapore. And it wouldn't be included in FFP.

And he would be persona grata in Casa Poodle.

Has anyone heard or seen what is happening about the away membership. I have had one for years but heard nothing yet.

I think anyone going to Union Berlin away should get first choice for this season, start as you mean to go on

Anyone who was there under Megson should get every game free on the comfiest armchair and fed grapes throughout the match. Especially those of us who weren't old enough to remember the Clough years but had our parents and grandparents tell us how great it used to be, as you walk back to the car after a 3-0 stuffing at home by Plymouth on your 14th birthday...

Yes-I knew the game was up after the Plymouth debacle.

That night away at Cov when we were all but relegated watching that idiot just standing there with his hands in his pockets. God we've suffered through this last 21 years.
I assume we'll hear something early next week, can't be much longer now.
