This is an absolutely legit grievance Forza are airing here, and - yet again - the silence from the club is deafening.

It really isn‘t good enough, we all know it, and it is about time the club stepped-up and took responsibility for this shambles. They made the decision to employ Ticketmaster, they are responsible for providing and supporting the ticketing platform and fixing whatever is wrong with it.

They have already had so much feedback about ticketing problems and done nothing about it.
This situation has been caused by the club’s greed in selling too many away memberships-I personally
don’t blame Ticketmaster but the club itself.
Somebody at Nottingham Forest should be hanging their heads in shame (or preferably resign) for shitting
on long term loyal fans.
Nottingham Forest would do well to remember that they may need those supporters when we inevitably
take a downturn at some point in the future.

Man City next folks, can't wait. They really ought to give us more as they never fill it - but they won't.

My local side also runs ticketing software from Queue-it (to manage and load balance the incoming queue) and then smoothly delivers you to the ticketing website for match tickets (both home and away).

They have had the same setup for years (at least since I moved here, nearly six years ago) and it just works… As a Club Member, I get a priority window for tickets (both for home and away matches) and I go to the website, wait in the queue (helpfully, I get a popup and an email when it is my „turn“ and then I have ten minutes to actually enter the web shop, and then I just browse what tickets are available, select a seat, drop it in the basket, and job done. I have never once had issues, even for highly-popular matches (like Bayern and Dortmund at home, plus local derbies against SC Freiburg and KSC).

Maybe Forest should have tried poaching Stuttgart‘s ticketing boss, as well as its scouts!

The queueing system worked fine, again. The problems were inside the retailing system, namely:
1) Couldn't find any tickets (seemingly most people?)
2) Could only buy one ticket at a time if you found tickets (seemingly a lot of people)
3) Got 2 minutes to buy a ticket after pressing buy now, but session terminated after 20 seconds (maybe just me)
4) Other random errors (seen a few on Twitter).

Ticketmaster needs to cop a lot of blame for this, but equally the club forcing 4600 Priority One members to fight it out at the same time for ~2500 tickets isn't exactly smart either. I'm sure most people had multiple devices/browsers trying to access and will have had friends/family trying to help them too - all because we're being forced to fight for tickets so we naturally try and increase our chances, but the impact of that is it's breaking the retailing site and causing stress for us all.

The easy way out of this for Forest is simply to create a ballot system of some sorts. Either randomly allocate tickets to people on a game by game basis and give those people a dedicated window to buy in (and repeat process if people don't take up the offer), or invite people to apply for tickets and randomly assign them (and take the money there are then for people who are successful).

People will be disappointed if they don't get tickets, but the way the club have oversold memberships means at least people understand they're not guaranteed a ticket so won't deluge the club with complaints like they're getting at the moment because the process is just a stressful shitshow.

Forest are burning a lot of fans good will which could be avoided with a couple of tweeks. They just need to show they are listening and willing to make amendments. It doesn't need to be a lot of effort nor do they need to undo the 5k members/not wanting a closed shop memo.

They just can't make us go through another 17 games like this. It's just crap, totally crap.

I do feel for everyone who is having difficulty getting tickets. The simple fact is there are not enough tickets to match availability.

Other than Derby away let’s be honest it’s been easy to get an away ticket for the last 23 years. You did not even have to be a season ticket holder to go to most away games.

Last time we were in the Premier League it was fairly easy to get away tickets.

I feel the mistake the club made is not using a ballot system for away members where those who missed out on Newcastle should have been given priority over those who got tickets for Newcastle for Everton. Once those who are missed out on Newcastle have been given the chance to get Everton tickets any time remaining tickets go on sale to away members.

If you use that type of system all season then you would get more Forest fans to away games then just a select amount.

It would be the fairest system to use but I imagine many would still complain because human nature often sees people think of themselves and what they want or feel entitled to rather than others and what’s is maybe fair. In this instance most people want to attend every away game which is understandable but maybe it is not the fairest way of allocating tickets.

I don't mind not getting tickets, the system as it stands is just incredibly frustrating.

You miss out based on nothing but pure luck, if it were a ballot then I would take that and know my turn is coming. Problem is people aren't seeing the ability to get to away games when they paid for the privledge to be given a chance to do so. I think that's wrong. Especially when there is a minimum amount of games you have to go to to retain the ability to buy away tickets.

Needs sorting / changing ASAP.

The 5K business started it with the excuse of it being a closed shop which is a complete and utter lie.

Out of 2500 away members 400 went every week leaving 2100 away members.

If we assume on average away members went to 50% of games that means 1050 members didn’t go to a game at any given time (a lot of people went to one a season though let’s be honest).

Add in the extra 500 tickets we will get most weeks you could be looking at 1550 new people getting a ticket at any given time.

Last years members should of had a day to get tickets before going to the new 2500 a day later and then potentially general sale.

The club chose greed though and eventually they will regret it when we go through a tough period and you need the idiots like me who have travelled all over the shop supporting this club.

I'd go the other way.

I don't think those 2,100 away members that were fairweather should necessarily get guaranteed tickets this year (which I'm sure they would take up en masse) in the same way I don't think it was fair to allow ST holders who'd been to 0 away games get away membership.

I don't think that someone who spent £35 and then went to a handful games, for whatever reason, can claim they deserve access over a ST holder who did the same amount of away games.

Should just sack this all off and go to full ballot system for away members. There's probably not many people who wanted an away membership that didn't get one anyway, maybe only 500-1000 more, so maybe the club should just let unlimited away members, but charge it at £100 to deter people only using it for one or two games, and then deduct £3-4 from face value of away ticket for every game an away member goes to - ie those who go to loads essentially get their membership costs back and those who don't pay a privilege.

What about 2700 tickets for playoff semi final being sold out before away members had chance to purchase? No explanation was given. Presumably they went to mates of ticket office staff then and tickets still being syphoned off in the same way now

Correct.

It is definitely still happening I know for a fact it happened for the Newcastle game.

Did anyone manage it? A bit of a piss take this
Managed to get two on the same transaction, so think I’ll also get a lottery ticket for tonight.

It’s so stressful just refreshing the club website several times a day to try and find out when they go on sale and what you’ll be doing at that time, never mind this shit show at 10am on a workday.

Will be great fun for United, Spurs, Scousers and West Ham games.

So we have to keep checking the website to get the release dates for each home game?

Can’t they just publish the release dates all at once like they used to for away games (back when I could get a ticket)?

If I need to be quick on the draw, I’d at least like to be able to put the dates in my calendar.

How about some kind of app that you could have on your phone that would notify you of the dates.

It could also have a notification called Ticket Info ...

This can’t be done because of the multiple changes for broadcasters - PL miss their own deadlines for some matches.

For example, Leicester away is down for change - the police want the kick off at 12.00noon to minimise alcohol intake (after the Cup game last season). However, the 12.00 slot causes conflict between the broadcasters because of the packages they have won.

Football has sold its soul to the broadcasters and it’s the supporters who suffer most.

At least tickets will be easy to get for that one 😄

Sorry, I was taking the piss.

I've never had a notification regarding tickets from the shitty app.

I was going to write some piece about what I think the club should do. But it is quite complicated to think about. I barely go to away games nowadays (the odd few a season) and I’m kind of happy about it in a way. A decade or two ago I was going to loads and this system would have really wound me up if I was suddenly shafted for tickets when I’d been doing Crewe away midweek and Chester away!! Not because I wanted tickets for glamour games but just because it was what I wanted to do on a Saturday afternoon.

I do think something should have been built around the current away loyalty scheme so people who did away games especially at the start of last season and other previous underwhelming seasons had priority over certainly people who have barely been away in recent years. But I don’t know enough about the loyalty scheme ins and outs.
