We once signed a dodgy character who had never played as a defender before who became an outstanding central defender.

It's not beyond the realms of possibility that Coops and the team are looking for players to fill spots which are not immediately obvious to us fans.

I'll just wait for the results, I think. All this trying to second guess the transfer targets is doing my head in.

Agreed Vals, I'm same.

As long as Coops as a major say I'm happy as a pig in Wetherz.

Didn't the player say he doesn't like playing at full back and wants a move where he can play in midfield? Can't see him coming to us if the intention is to play him where he doesn't want to play.

The likelihood will be Williams/Spence will be RB. AMN will be signed for midfield. But, like Colback, players that can step into a number of roles are vital, especially as we can't afford to have quality back ups in every role.

Burns had previously turned-out for Birmingham at centre-back Richard. Though granted not often.

Burns was defender who was converted to striker while at Brum. He then converted back to defender when arrived at Forest.

He said 'right-back is not my position' in 2019 after getting criticised as a defender when he was a midfielder playing out of position. Continued to learn the role, got an England call-up as a right-back, and by 2021 was more keen to play in that position to fight for a place at the World Cup. Dunno where he's at currently, but Cooper will have the answers.

He’d more than do a job for us at either position (and LWB for that matter). Happy to get him and Williams in the building early and it might give us the flexibility to move late for Spence if Spurs drop out …

Going to be honest but I've never really rated him. Looked the weak link in the Arsenal side over last could years when played when they were struggling to turn over mid table teams.

He'll cost a lot both in fee and wages. I'd rather we took a punt elsewhere for both RWB and CM.

I agree. Better at RWB but doesn't want to play there. Not good enough for where we want to be at CM.

Hope we look elsewhere.

Got an Arsenal supporting mate who said he's very hot and cold. Can have a worldie one game then look non-league standard the next.

Lee Clarke has raised this again, thinks Arsenal still want to sell him , but notes that a) his weekly wages are expensive and b) Cooper may not be overly keen. A bit of a weird article, really, as it opines that he'd be useful but lists and ignores the main reason not to - Coops (rumoured) doesnt want him.

This is only guess work with AMN, but I would think, he's the sort of player who looked down on us earlier in the window. Where Jesse Lingard might be accused of being a mercenary, he's made a risky move to Forest for football. I think AMN thought someone 'better' would be in for him. Agent trying to stir it but Cooper now doesn't want him .. I'm not sure he'd get a game now either. Bullet dodged, Forest

Is Lee Clarke credible? Isn't he just a blogger and fan-journo? He reads the Internet and writes up an opinion for the masses to consume and drive adverts on his site?

Nothing against the bloke, when I heard him on a podcast talks sense. But not sure he has contact book full of numbers.

Whatever the reasons behind AMN still being at Arsenal, its clear that Forest have long since moved on to other targets (given the signings of O'Brien and Mangala, and the type of midfielder we are now looking at).

Whenever I've looked at his site he just has a whole page of nothing apart from, perhaps, a single sentence giving us nothing more and usually less than we've already heard elsewhere. It's just clickbait.

Don't really know enough about him to form an opinion i will just simply trust Coopers judgement
