This is an analysis of his strengths and weaknesses

This is mainly based on his one season with the blunts in the PL, and I think it misses that context. The reason for low long pass completion is surely that is how they played, every ball booted far, in a team which builds from the back like us, the occasional long pass will be played only when a good opportunity presents itself. The fact he has good range is promising.

What I can't quite grasp is how long this deal is taking to finished.
We want the keeper; he wants a move; Man Ure want to see how he fares in the Prem.
OK, they have a new manager, but it doesn't take long to say "Yes" or "No", does it?
And, after all, it is only a season loan.

Most likely still negotiating the option to buy IMO.

The option to buy doesn't benefit United at all really. I just can't see what incentive it gives United and without that it won't be included.

It takes the burden of his 6 year contract off their financial fair play calculations, which are coming under more and more scrutiny.

Delays like this are usually on the selling side. Put name out as available and wait a bit to see if any other clubs nibble to get best deal.

I want the an option to buy if the boy does what we hope we can. But at the end of the day, a straight loan wouldn't be the end of the world and we can reup talks about a permant deal with them next Summer; just want him here either way it goes.

We need to get some of these over the line now. Let’s make sure they do all of the pre season training, and let’s not be missing out on targets or scrabbling around for 7 or 8 signings in 2 weeks time. It’s not my money, but there’s a lot to be said for getting the business done early.

To be honest I think we should count ourselves lucky we're getting him at all. Absolute quality keeper.
Well to be fair hes an "absolute quality keeper" whose played literally no football last season. The situation is untenable for him and Manure so he had to go somewhere. There aren't too many prem teams without a solid nailed on number 1 so options were limited and as much as ManU are helping us out we are helping them and him out too so I think an option isn't unreasonable. Imagine if he has a stormer next season, the current England stopper gets injured and hes then at the World Cup. Its then out of our control.

Because he's second choice behind David De Gea, one of the best keepers in the world!

But yeah not good enough for Nottingham Forest
It doesn't matter. If hes not getting a game, hes not getting a game and it doesn't matter if hes behind Pele or Lionel Richie in the number one shirt its all the same.
The point I am making is he HAS to move, and there are limited options for goalkeepers if he wants to say in England and in the prem. Not saying that means we will get him on the cheap, just that the deal cuts both ways.

Genuinely astonished by your level of entitlement

The longer this simple "can we borrow your No.2 keeper for the season, please?", goes on the more likely I think that it will not be resolved in our favour.
Of course, my view is purely shaped by the media speculation as he Club, quite correctly, have remained stoically silent over this, and every other rumour, doing the rounds.
And generally I believe very little of what I read in the media, so I shouldn't be paying any attention to the Henderson speculation (or ay other speculation, for that matter.
I just hope we aren't in talks to bring Stephen Henderson back by mistake.

I agree with @Harvey, this season is all just about having him here.

I watched a fair bit of him for Sheff U via net highlights, and obv spoke to the Sheff U lot about him, and he's a huge upgrade on Brice. Different class, which is what we need for the Prem.

Dunno if it's been posted already, but this is a cool vid of some of his moments...

Deano could well be the difference between staying and getting relegated. He's that good. You don't turn down the chance of a loan like that.

Even without the option- we've then got 12 months for our expert recruitment team to identify another keeper or agree a price with United.

He won't be able to play against ManUre... Jordan Smith will get a run out !
